Open eTwinning (MOOC) - Challenge 5

As a primary teacher, I am worried about the use of social networks that have the students of 5th and 6th grade of primary school. They can not officially use them but we are aware that they often use them. This is my eTwinning project plan:

PROJECT DESCRIPTION, PEDAGOGICAL INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY
The purpose of this project was to improve our teaching-learning processes and habits in the areas of:

In our project we will use different innovative technologies and strategies to collaborate at all levels:
  • Between students from the same country and between international students (collaborative groups).
  • Teachers from the 5 countries (before, during and after all the activities of the project).
  • Local community (the 5 cities) (take part on an ad in the local tv).
The educational methodology that we are going to use is: collaborative groups (large groups, small groups, as couples and individuals), artistic expression and technologies.

CURRICULAR INTEGRATION
The main content of our project is cyberbullying. But out project will be integrate in several areas of the primary curriculum. Then we are going to see the contents that will be worked on in each subject:
  • Computers: video, technologies, email, Google Drive, Google Forms, Kahoot, Padlet...
  • English: vocabulary, syntactic structures, oral expressions...
  • Social Sciences: cyberbullying, school problems, ad, local tv...

The objectives of this project are:
  • Make aware about the use of social netwoks.
  • Conduct a school campaign against cyberbullying.
  • Improve english competences.
  • Know the way to make a video.
  • Develop digital skills.
This project  we will include in the evaluation of the areas involved as follows:
  • Computers, for example, checking the correct use of digital tools and reviewing the video about the ad.
  • English, for example, watching the interaction with their foreing partners.
  • Social Sciences, for example, observing how they deal with cyberbullying and correcting the survey they are going to do.
COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION EXCHANGE
On the project, all students will have a clear idea that it was essential the communication between all countries to do a correct final ad.

At the beginning of the month, the teacher coordinator of the groups will send to all members the work plan that reflect the schedule of activities and suggestions for work.

COLLABORATION AMONGS SCHOOLS
Initially, all the participating teachers of the project will collaborate in the decision of the activities. Also, we will have periodic contact (Twinspace).
The collaboration between all students will be total. The collaborative groups will have one student from each country and they will need to maintain fluid communication.

USE OF TECHNOLOGY
The use of information technologies will promote intrapersonal and interpersonal learning through 2.0 tools such as: Padlet, Kahoot, Google Drive, Google Forms, Movie Maker, Skype...

RESULTS, IMPACT AND DOCUMENTATION
This project will allow the discovery of four new cultures and share the same school problems. It will also enhace learning and mutual collaboration which will lead to a rapid improvement of our own learning.
With this project, our students will gain confidence and will change their attitude toward collaborative work.
To the evaluation, we will carry out all the activities results, the final ad (which will be presented on local television) and a survey (one for the students and other for the teachers).

Finally, we will share our experience with the educational community through different ways such as blog, school website and Twinspace
